With the holidays (and final exams) coming up, this holiday treat is my favorite to keep in the freezer and always have on hand for a snack!
Ingredients:
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
9 cups chex cereal
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup M&M’s (optional)
Directions:
In a microwave safe bowl, add the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the chocolate is melted.
Stir in the vanilla.
Measure out the chex cereal into a very large bowl and pour the chocolate mixture on top. Mix with a spoon until all of the cereal is coated evenly.
Pour the chocolate covered cereal into a gallon-sized ziploc and pour the powdered sugar on top. Seal the ziploc and shake until the sugar evenly coats all of the cereal.
At this point you can serve the muddy buddies, but they taste best frozen! I recommended freezing for at least 2 hours (it's worth the wait, I promise!).
When you are ready to serve, mix with the optional M&M's and enjoy!
Notes:
Powdered sugar: you can add more or less powdered sugar based on your personal preference.
Peanut butter: If you want more peanut butter, you can replace the butter with peanut butter! Or if you want less peanut butter, you can replace it with more chocolate chips.
This recipe is really easy to half or double!
Store in the freezer to always have a delicious snack on hand :)

Yum! Any other ideas for add-ins besides M&Ms?
