Quick Buttery Garlic Bread

Writer's picture: Bethany OrisonBethany Orison

This Quick Buttery Garlic Bread recipe is the perfect side dish for pasta and soup dishes! This can even be made ahead of time and thrown in the oven whenever you're ready for hot garlic bread!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened (see note)

  • 2 tsp minced garlic

  • 3/4 tsp garlic salt

  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 loaf French Bread

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Stir together all of the ingredients except for the French bread in a small bowl.

  3. Cut the French bread into thick (1 to 2 inch) pieces. The number of slices will depend on the length of the French bread.

  4. Divide and spread the butter evenly between the slices of bread.

  5. Wrap the loaf tightly in tin foil and place in the heated oven for 15-20 minutes until the butter is fully melted (check the center pieces).

  6. Enjoy with Spaghetti Meat Sauce and cooked pasta of choice!

Notes:

  • Softened butter: I never remember to pull out butter early enough for it to soften in time, so I usually throw it in the microwave on defrost for 10-20 seconds. We want it soft enough to stir the seasonings in, but not fully melted and liquid.

  • This can be made ahead of time up to a few days in advance. After wrapping the bread in foil, just throw it in the fridge. It may just need a few more minutes in the oven.
